When you become a member of PPA, you are given the chance to become a certified professional photographer.  You are also able to take part in face-to-face in-person learning workshops to improve your photography skills. Our education is also provided by credible photographers with years of documented experience in the field.

Becoming a certified photographer is the best way to stand out among your competitors because it will help boost your photography skills and confidence. On top of that, the program will empower photographers to be more knowledgeable, successful, and technically equipped professionals in the industry which means you can charge more for your services.

If you want to enter a state/ local competition, check with your local Community Network association to see what their competition rules are. To enter into the International Photographic Competition, you have to be a PPA member. After you join PPA, head over to the IPC Rules and keep an eye on the registration deadlines. IPC includes 16 competition categories. Each category winner will receive a $1,000 cash prize and the final winner out of all entrants will receive the grand prize of $10,000.

Once you join PPA, Find-a-Photographer  lets you create your online profile for the directory. To be listed within the Find-a-Photographer database, access the “Find-a-Photographer” section of your myPPA profile and make sure that you select “Enable Your Profile”. This allows prospective customers to browse your name when searching for a photographer from PPA. It also makes it easy for customers to view samples of your images, understand what you’re capable of, and contact you for work. If you want a higher chance of drawing in clients to your profile, add a photo of yourself or studio.  People click on photos 10 times more than a blank image icon.
