George P. Joell, III, M.Photog.Cr., CPP
This course will go beyond the basics of lighting. We will dive deep into lighting techniques for individuals, couples, and groups. We will start with one light and progress to a five-light setup. We will switch from studio strobes to LED lighting for indoor and outdoor portraits. We will use lighting to sculpt the body and target areas of the scene for a specific look and feel. We will use modifiers, grids, reflectors, Snoots, filters and barn doors to direct the light. Although a basic understanding of the exposure triangle is required, we will discuss how to manipulate ISO, aperture, and shutter speed to create a dynamic image. We will discuss lighting for macro photography, as well as broad, short, split, loop, and butterfly lighting techniques.
