About Kevin

Kevin Dooley, M.Photog.Cr., is an award-winning wildlife, portrait, and wedding photographer who grew up in Placitas, New Mexico. His interest in photography began at the age of 14 when he was given a 35mm camera as a Christmas gift. He worked at his father’s portrait studio as an assistant photographer and darkroom technician and at the age of 18, he enlisted in the US Navy and served on an aircraft carrier.

After completing his service, he returned to New Mexico and opened a photography studio in Albuquerque. During the 40 years Kevin’s studio has been in operation, he's received many awards. Kevin has been selected five times to represent Team USA in the World Photographic Cup. His photography has been published in numerous publications and in 2020 he published "Wild Faces in Wild Places," showcasing his stunning wildlife photography and sharing his experience as a wildlife photographer and safari guide, offering lessons on positivity, connecting with nature, and finding personal fulfillment. Kevin’s second volume of “Wild Faces in Wild Places” was released in 2024.

Kevin travels all over the world to pursue his passion of wildlife photography, and has been to countries and islands such as Botswana, Ethiopia, the Galapagos, Amazon, Uganda, India, Sri Lanka, Chile, Brazil, and Africa, to name a few. Kevin’s love for the culture, history, and wildlife of Africa led him to become a certified FGASA (Field Guide Association of South Africa). After years of leading guided safari adventures he started “Idube Photo Safaris,” his wildlife tour company.

Kevin uses his photography to encourage people to fall in love with their lives and nature. His teaching style encourages photographers to embrace their inner artist and leave their comfort zone to explore new corners of the world.
